We visited Hawley Square in Margate with Sam Causer, to feature his 200-year-old Georgian townhouse - a home he's been quietly restoring since buying it in 2015. Sam walked us through every floor: from a basement bedroom carved out of damp brick, to a kitchen with a wonky hand-pressed concrete draining board, to rooms where six layers of wallpaper have simply been left to tell their own story. What was once a solicitor's storage facility — its history buried under metal shelving, moisture and decades of neglect — is now a rare example of what it looks like when a building is listened to rather than overwritten.
