Smith & Newton Architects is an award winning East London based RIBA chartered architectural design studio. Without governance or prejudice to style and architectural trends, they carefully, and appropriately, design bespoke architectural solutions that draw on their collective experience to mitigate risk and drive efficiency. Their combined experience covers a wide range of architectural sectors and we are able to provide a full architectural design service working designs through from feasibility and brief formulation onto construction completion.
The majority of their work is in Residential and Hotel sectors, for both commercial and private clients. They work with new build as well as renovations and conversions. They also have experience working on listed buildings and always open to discussing new opportunities regardless of scale or complexity. They work at every stage of the build process, primarily because they want to realise the concept and see the designs built. As a RIBA chartered practice Smith & Newton Architects align their work stages with the RIBA ‘Plan of Work’ which covers Feasibility, Initial Concept through to Planning, Tender and Construction stages.

Smith & Newton Architects worked with homeowner Patsy to transform a deeply neglected 1850s Victorian terrace in North London into a bold, characterful family home. The standout move is the rear extension - clad entirely in glazed green tiles and designed to make a confident architectural statement within a conservation area. We visited Patsy to hear the story behind the project, from the first year living in the house to the details that make it entirely her own.
