From The Ground Up is looking for its first projects. We're documenting major UK renovations from concept to completion - following the design decisions, the challenges, and the transformation in a professionally produced series.

Whether you're a homeowner about to embark on a major transformation, or an Architect with an exciting project about to break ground, we want to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For

Inside the Build is currently seeking standout projects for its first series. Projects should have:

  • A strong design story - the thinking, the challenges, and the vision behind the transformation

  • A construction budget of £300k–£1m+ to ensure enough scale and impact on camera

  • Based within the UK

  • Currently in design or planning, or a start date within the next 0-3 months.

We're looking for projects such as large home renovations, substantial extensions, top-to-bottom reconfigurations, barn or character conversions, architect-designed new builds, and one-off self builds.

Both the homeowner and architect should be comfortable speaking on camera and available to participate across all three filming stages.

Are you an Architect or designer working with clients on an exciting upcoming project? You're welcome to apply on their behalf - just let us know in the application and we'll arrange an introductory call with both parties.

How Filming Works

If selected, we'll arrange a date to visit the project with the client and the designer, and film across three stages:

1. Before the Build

We meet the homeowners and architect, tour the existing space or site, and explore the vision, design approach, and ambitions for the project.

2. During Construction

We return to capture progress, document key design decisions, and follow the real challenges and surprises that come with any major build.

3. The Final Reveal

A full tour of the finished home - what changed, what you love most, and reflections on the journey from start to finish.

Each visit typically takes around half a day and will be scheduled around the natural progress of your project.
